Eric Slater [1896-1963] – Biography
Eric Slater was born in West Hampstead in London in 1896. His father was a London silversmith. He studied at the Hastings School of Art and was also tutored in colour woodcutting by Arthur Rigden Read.
Most of his subjects were views if Sussex and floral subjects. In 1930 he won a gold medal in the annual international exhibition at the Printmakers Society of California and later exhibited in Melbourne Australia.
Slater sold his work at the Harold Bromhead gallery in London.
