Edward Wadsworth [1889-1949] – Biography
He was born in Cleckheaton in West Yorkshire and when to school at Fettes College in Scotland. After studding engineering in Germany he studied art at the Knirr School, Bradford School of Art and the Slade School of Art in London. During this time his fellow students included David Bomberg, Mark Gertler, CRW Nevinson and Stanley Spencer. He worked for the Royal Navy in the First Word War in connection with dazzle camouflage. He was known for his connections with Vorticism
