Biography – Elizabeth Keith [1887-1956]
Born in Aberdeenshire in 1887 she was a self taught artist in Japanese woodblock printing. She was influenced by Katsushika Hokusai, Kitagawa Utamaro and Ando Hiroshige.
She traveled widely including Japan, China and Korea. Keith exhibited from 1923-1940. Returning to England in 1924 she learned colour etching before returning to Asia and Japan. In 1937 she held exhibition softly her work in America.
